Ryan Jewell, Roger Edwards and I targeted the warm front near ABI, and intercepted an initial supercell just N of ABI around 3:30 pm. This storm weakened as a new storm formed to its south. We followed this new supercell from ABI to Breckenridge, where it produced a couple of rain-wrapped tornadoes. The chase continued all the way to Denton at sunset, but poor visibility precluded much photography.

Our first view (to the WSW) of the updraft base/wall cloud to the NNW of ABI. We had just popped out of the forward flank core and crossed the warm front to find this tornado-warned storm to our W and SW. The low levels were quite cool immediately N of

View to the NW at the supercell as it acquires HP characteristics. The storm surprised us with its quick motion and we fell behind the mesocyclone from Clyde to Moran.
