I chased with Ryan Jewell and Bryan Smith to the area between Wichita Falls and Jacksboro in N TX. We observed two supercells, the first of which produced 2.5-3" hail.

The supercell moved by just to our N, with a little too much rain-cooled outflow for much tornado threat.

Immediately after the main supercell core crossed TX hwy 148, we drove N to sample the hail. This is a collection of stones ranging from 2-2.5", with the largest near 3" (somewhat oblong).

We let the first supercell go on to the northeast, focusing our attention on developing convection farther to the SW. Our thought was we might see a slight improvement in the local storm environment by the time the next storm arrived. Here is a view of
