Not exactly prime chase country! The storm overtook us about 15 minutes after this photo, and we moved back S toward Broken Bow. About 4 miles N of town, we encountered an area of tight wrapping rain curtains and an associated cloud base swirl. The two mobile mesonet vehicles measured peak (2 sec.) gusts of 60-100 kt and a 20 second pressure fall of 6 mb in the developing circulation, which became a brief tornado immediately E of the highway. Visibility was poor for various reasons, but we still managed to collect some interesting data.
